This plug replaces the stock rubber one that easily falls out because it is just glued in place.  Over time, you oem rubber plug will fall out and hopefully you notice it before its too late.  This plug goes where the earlier 4 stroke models had a manual decompression system, when Yamaha changed to an automatic system they never changed the head casting and just put a rubber plug in there.  Installation is easy, remove the set screw, pull out the rubber plug, push in the new billet one, re-install the set screw and your done.  Plug comes as pictured with O-ring.
