Vintage/Antique Psaltery -
The term "psaltery" is applied to a simple zither-like instrument with 15 melody strings. It has no cracks but shows some signs of age and is missing the last string. It is also known as a fretless zither or autoharp. Tuning key included. These instruments were promoted by Columbia University instructor, Satis Narona Coleman author of a book specifically for this instrument (The Psaltery Book) which is not included. His name appears on the inside label of the instrument. A beautiful study in rich wood, a graceful shape and gold note markings, this psaltery is the perfect gift for the musician in the family or for someone who appreciates the artistry of musical instruments as decorative objects.
