Vintage Railroad Tie Lifting Tongs Carrier w/ Chain.
Don’t know a whole lot about these, other than they came from a guy’s estate who collected railroad items.
There are a couple stampings on them, as illustrated in the pictures.
Looks like they have been modified, with someone welding a short piece of chain to them. While probably not original, it would certainly make them a lot more handy to use with a loader tractor.
If needed, I’m sure a person could easily grind the chain off, and weld on longer handles.
I also have a spike hammer on my other auctions.
