Description
It’s in good condition it’s a little off from zero if you look at the dial. The original paperwork in the handle is included I tried my best to show a picture of it. It’s very delicate paper. The wrench measures approximately 17 1/4 inches longOtherwise there is a little bit of surface rust that was taken off with a wire brush if you have any questions please let me know
This company was in business from around 1930 until WWII broke out. After WWII they again began producing miniature trains until 1956 when they were purchased by a company in New York and all manufacturing was moved to NY.It appears that when you purchased one of these miniature trains, you were given one of these torque wrenches to go with it. Since the company produced about 200 trains total and only 70 are known to exist, I would say that makes this particular torque wrench very rare.Nice addition to a railroad collection or to complete a miniature railroad collection.
The company still exists as Sturtevant-Richmont Co after being P.A. Sturtevant Co. until 1975 , or so.Train company still exists as Allen Herschell Co. selling parts. This wrench was made in 1936- a single run, maybe 200. There were maybe 2,000 train sets made
