    Description

    Vintage Indian brass oil lamp called a Nachiarkoil or Annam lamp. It is a 5 arm lamp with 9 diyas, or oil receptacles. Fill each one with oil and drop in a cotton wick to burn. These are used in temples, or in homes for special occasions. The bird at the top is the Annapakshi, or divine swan. It is a mythical creature from heaven who gives knowledge to choose truth over falsehood, virtue over sin, and real over make-believe.
