Description
I believe this is an Oscar Schmidt Antique Autoharp early 1900's and it works. It has a stamped serial number of 4814. Clearly not born yesterday, but yesteryear when many instruments like this one were made in the United States and offered via mail order or sold door to door.In spite of obvious signs of age, the condition of this autoharp is actually quite good. The chord bars are intact, the tuning pins are a bit oxidized, but are still anchoring the strings, that look about as old as the harp, but are still strumming along. On the bottom, all but one of the foot pads are missing where only the small screw that held the rubber/felt base remains.
Shows Minimal Wear
