    Vintage 12in rail road  wrench. Marked DT & I.
    It is what some railroad track workers call " bull nuts". That item is used to pull spikes in tight areas like between switch points, frogs, etc. Anywhere you can not get a regular pull with a spike puller. Not something you use that often but very handy when pulling spikes in a railroad switch.
