    Description

    This beautifully, unique doll was given to me by someone who said it was brought back to them from Africa in the 70's. I have no more history on it, but wish I did. I find similar dolls listed, but none as pretty as this woman.
    The unique and interesting thing about her is that her arms and legs are made of wire covered by tape. The dress and head scarf are of colorful broadcloth-type coarsely-woven but colorful fabric. Her woven basket has several small herbs in it as if she's been to market or the garden. The basket handle is broken, but could be repaired with a careful stitch of thread or dab of glue. Her face is cloth with simple embroidered features. Her stand is made of a block of wood cut from a log.
