BMW Airhead to 9/75 Top End Gasket Kit Base Head Valve Cover Pushrod r50/5-r90s

Description

High quality German gasket set.  Two valve covers are the thick waxy old style-- they still work the best on these heads.  Two head gaskets are the same high quality multi material type with the sealing rings.  Base gasket is a more effective modern paper alternative to the aluminum OEM which always seemed to leak out oil micro dust.  Four new pushrod seals-- grey color is just a waxy rubber protectant, wipes off.   This kit is for the 1970 - 9/1975 machines with the smaller pushrod tubes
The early /6 engines have a couple of dowel pins pressed in to the top of the cylinder or the bottom of the cylinder head. BMW decided this was a bad idea and stopped using the dowel pins in 1975. They do not make a head gasket with a hole to accept the dowel pin. The correct procedure is for you to remove and discard the dowel pins. Smooth out the area with a couple of strokes with a fine toothed flat file and this gasket works perfectly.
