Asian mural wood lacquer picture mother-of-pearl
The 4-piece, colourful lacquer picture from Vietnam shows many cranes in a landscape. The large, Asian wall decoration was created by hand using lots of mother-of-pearl.
The crane is a symbol of long life and immortality. In traditional Chinese culture, it is believed that cranes can grow very old and they are often associated with the idea of immortality.
Happiness and peace: Cranes are also seen as symbols of happiness and peace. In Chinese art, pairs of cranes are often depicted, indicating harmony and peace.
Love and loyalty: In Chinese art and poetry, cranes are also often depicted as symbols of love and marital fidelity. This is due to the behaviour of cranes, which often live in lifelong pairs.
Success and career: The crane is also seen as a symbol of success and a successful career. In Chinese art, cranes are often depicted in conjunction with other symbols that represent prosperity and success.

Asian treasures of days gone by
In our opinion, the handicraft in Asia today is not as demanding as it was 20 years ago. Therefore, we have made it our mission to find a new home for ancient treasures of Asia from collection dissolutions and bequests.
