Photos show everything. Not sure the age, definitely very, very old. And in the condition shown. This was a barn find and it is dirty/greasy, as you can see. But as you can also see, it rises as intended. When totally extended, this is 15 inches tall. When totally closed, it is 10 inches tall. The bottom diameter is 5 inches.  I really don't know if this is a railroad jack, as I was told, or whether it can be used for several other things, like perhaps to hold up a barn, a vehicle or just what. The only thing I know for sure is that it is very, very heavy. It weighs nearly 50 lb. It is a very cool collectible, even if you do not use it for its intended purpose.
