    Description

A LIGHT TURN ON THE THUMB WHEEL SLIDES IT ALL THE WA UPD AND DOWN. OBVIOUS SIGNS OF AGE AND USE. NO DAMAGE TO THE WOOD HANDLE BEYOND STANDARD SURFACE WEAR. THIS ITEM IS "AS FOUND". I HAVEN'T EVEN WIPED IT DOWN.
It will be securely wrapped before putting it into the flat rate padded envelope, which is the cheapest way to get it to you safely.
This is the larger length of just over 10 inches.
Patent date is January 14, 1896. The piece is referred to as a "SOLID BAR MONKEY WRENCH" in the patent application of November 2, 1895. Patented by Robert Cosmos Ellrich.  Manufacturer was Peck, Stow & Wilcox Co.
The main shank and base for the adjusting screw are in one piece. The shank is notched to fit around the nut portion of the adjusting screw. The movable jaw is formed of a second piece with the "back" side opened; it is closed around the shank and pinned or closed with a clamping screw.
The patent was used for the SOLID BAR and SOLID STEEL nut wrenches produced by Peck, Stow and Wilcox, and also marketed under such brand names as KEEN KUTTER
