(2008) Canada PL66 (Proof Like) "Alpine Skiing" Painted Leaf 25 Cent
Note that the date is in parenthesis because the actual issue date was 2007.  What happened was that on October 24, 2007. the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) released 25-cent alpine skiing coins to the public. These coins commemorate the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
The RCM has confirmed reports that some coins made for collectors have a 2008 date on the obverse (heads) side instead of the correct 2007 date.
The error coins were limited to the Alpine Skiing Coin Sport Cards sold only through "Petro-Canada outlets and a small quantity of Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games coin collections." The coins are specially painted versions

The 2008 versions are collectible, they are, for they are full qualified "Mule" coins; however, the correctly dated coin is more desirable for their scarce numbers.

– The Royal Canadian Mint confirms that a small number of 25-cent alpine skiing coins produced for collector products issued on October 24, 2007 bear a 2008 date on the obverse, or "heads" side of the coin, rather than the 2007 date. This error is limited to alpine skiing coin sports cards sold exclusively at participating Petro-Canada outlets and a small quantity of Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games coin collections. The 22 million 25-cent alpine skiing coins produced for circulation are not affected.
The Mint is currently investigating the source of this error and will implement the appropriate measures to ensure it does not occur in the future.
