    Description

1930-40s Native American Large Deer Skin Over Pine Ceremonial Powwow Drum 12”.
In great condition, there is minor discoloration on one end of the drum's stretched skin, which is typical with age and use. Refer to the attached pictures for visuals.
We hypothesize that this drum is crafted from a hollowed-out pine tree with its bark intact. The skin used is most likely deer. Notably, the drum's skin is in outstanding condition, devoid of any missing or loose strings. The sounds produced by the drum are robust and vibrant, culminating in resonant echoes. There is a slight amount of the tree's interior inside the drum that has loosened, producing a faint rattling sound.
This drum likely originated from the tribes of the Northwest region of the United States.
